Drowned Histories: When Legends Hide Human Violence

Stand on a quiet shore as the sun slides off the water and feel something tugging at more than your ankle — an old story, a rumor, a memory. This episode follows the pull from surface legend to buried truth, tracing how ghost stories about hands from the deep grew around a real and brutal history.

Travel from the chilling folklore of a cursed lake to the documented violence of Forsyth County in 1912 and the later flooding that reshaped the land. Along the way, we ask the uncomfortable question: are we haunted by ghosts, or by the living choices that erased entire communities?

Join Siquoyia Blue as she untangles myth from memory, urging listeners to remember the people behind the stories and to reckon with the history that refuses to stay submerged.
